Inside The Mind of a Marine Drill Instructor is completed
I just completed my first book called Inside the Mind of a Marine Drill Instructor. We are probably two months away from print but I am glad to finally have it on paper. When I left the Marine Corps in 2006 because my daughter Kylie McDugle was born. I had know idea what I would be able to accomplish or whether or not I would be able to accomplish anything. I was confident as a Marine but turning that success into the civilian world was a totally different story. My first year out of the corps I wrote about 50 pages with this book in mind. When I went back 10 years later and read it I could see how much I had grown as a person. I could not stand to read the language I had written in my own book. This book in no way reflects all boot camp experiences as all experiences are different. I get asked whether or not there is physical abuse during boot camp. I will not write about every incident nor will I deny that it occurs, sometimes it is simply warranted. A Marine Drill Instructor has one of the most rigorous jobs in the corps with a high level of success required or people die. I did not tell of the gory detail of the job, in fact most Marines will read it and think it is weak but I wanted to provide anyone who is thinking about the military to catch just a small glimpse into the mind of a DI. When the book releases I will post it on my Facebook, twitter and on this site. We will be launching a new site soon where the book can be purchased. I really do hope you enjoy it.
